John The Bride

This shoot filled my creative heart in every single way! From the venue and florals, to the dress and makeup, this was truly a community-supported vision. John, AKA Fertile Liza, brought the epic ferocity and beautiful plant inspiration. With an innate green thumb and golden spirit, John is the queen of gardening and the owner of the plant shop “Somewhere That’s Green” in Bend, Oregon. My vision with this shoot was to deconstruct the stereotypes surrounding the gender of clothes and support gender fluidity in both fashion and the wedding industry. A continued goal of mine as a photographer is to increase representation in the wedding industry of historically underrepresented groups, and I was happy to see the publicity this shoot received, including beautifully-framed prints hanging at Bend Picture Framing during Pride Month!
